Educational iPhone Apps For The 15% Of US Teens That Own One

by venhi on December 23, 2009

According to a recent study, 15% of US teens own an iPhone.  It’s no wonder Accredited Online Colleges published a list of the 100 Most Educational iPhone Apps.  For those iKids up for the challenge, perhaps we can fill their devices with some college level material.

Excluding my biased opinion of The Chemical Touch, more than a couple of mobile app round-up sites I investigated agreed this is mos def a killer app.  It provides a wealth of information regarding the elements of the periodic table and amino acids.  Melting point and electronegativity are included and a Wikipedia link is provided for more in-depth analyses of the compound in question.

Of that same survey, 87%1 of the teens own an iPod.  It will be fascinating to see the impact mobile devices have on e-learning as the variety and robustness of apps grows.
